Multi-Epoch and Multi-Imagery (MEMI) Photogrammetric Workflow for Enhanced Change Detection Using Time-Lapse Cameras

چکیده

Photogrammetric models have become a standard tool for the study of surfaces, structures and natural elements. As an alternative to Light Detection Ranging (LiDAR), photogrammetry allows 3D point clouds be obtained at much lower cost. This paper presents enhanced workflow image-based reconstruction high-resolution designed work with fixed time-lapse camera systems, based on multi-epoch multi-images (MEMI) exploit redundancy. is part fully automatic working setup that includes all steps: from capturing images obtaining clusters change detection. The capable photogrammetric higher quality than classic Structure Motion (SfM) workflow. MEMI reduced error up factor 2 when compared previous approach, allowing M3C2 deviation 1.5 cm. In terms absolute accuracy, using LiDAR data as reference, our proposed method 20% more accurate automation well improvement reconstructed enables 4D analysis in near-real time.

Object detection in multi-epoch data

In astronomy multiple images are frequently obtained at the same position of the sky for followup co-addition as it helps one go deeper and look for fainter objects. With large scale panchromatic synoptic surveys becoming more common, image co-addition has become even more necessary as new observations start to get compared with co-added fiducial sky in real time. The standard co-addition techn...

Semi-automatic Registration and Change Detection Using Multi- Source Imagery with Varying Geometric and Radiometric Properties

Change detection is the process of identifying differences in the state of objects and/or phenomena under consideration by observing them at different times. Change detection is important for monitoring and managing natural resources, urban development, environmental changes, and disaster assessments. Recent advances in satellite imagery, in terms of improved spatial and temporal resolutions, a...

Land Cover classification and change-detection analysis using multi-temporal remote sensed imagery and landscape metrics

Remote Sensing (RS) data and techniques, in combination with GIS and landscape metrics, are fundamental to analyse and characterise Land Cover (LC) and its changes. The case study here described, has been conducted in the area of Avellino (Southern Italy). To characterise the dynamics of changes during a fifty year period (1954÷2004), a multitemporal set of images has been processed: aerial pho...

Urban Change Detection Using Coherence and Intensity Characteristics of Multi-temporal ERS-1/2 Imagery

In this paper, the potential of multitemporal ERS-1/2 InSAR data for detecting urban land-cover changes is investigated on a test area within Shanghai city, China. A new unsupervised change-detection approach is proposed, which is characterized by the combined use of two temporal variations based on backscattering intensity and long-term coherence from multitemporal ERS-1/2 SAR images. The prop...
